How pace is calculated

Pace = time ÷ distance. 10 km in 55 minutes is 5.5 minutes per km, that is 5:30 /km or 8:51 per mile. Speed = distance ÷ time.

Projections keep the same pace for the whole race. Real pace usually drops over longer distances; treat them as a reference.
